If you’ve ever wondered what it looks like when a theatre production fully commits to the fun—this was it.
Filming Mamma Mia! at Hurricane Theatre felt less like work and more like trying to keep up with a full-blown dance party that just happened to have incredible lighting, costumes, and vocals. From the first rehearsal shots to the final edits, the energy never let up.
The cast brought that perfect mix of polish and personality—tight choreography, big expressive moments, and just enough playful chaos to make every scene feel alive. And behind the scenes, the production team kept things moving at a pace that honestly matched the music: fast, upbeat, and always pushing forward.
As someone who got to shoot and edit this project, it was one of those rare gigs where everything clicks—the visuals, the performances, the music—it all just works. You don’t have to try very hard to make something feel exciting when the show already is.
Southern Utah continues to surprise me with the level of talent and production value coming out of these theatres. This one? Pure sunshine, pure fun, and a whole lot of ABBA stuck in my head for days afterward.
